I wanted to let everyone know about a great web site and podcast out there, the Charles Carroll Society. (Charles Carroll was a Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.) The web site and podcast is about prepping and liberty from a Catholic Patriot perspective.
I’m a protestant but we need to work together. Give the Charles Carroll Society a look/listen.
This is so cool. Father Shaun sends in this picture. Kinda shatters your view of priests as liberals and pacifists, huh?
In Book Seven or Book Eight (still not sure yet), you will read about Pastor Pete, the protestant chaplain of the 17th Irregulars, doing his best to perform a service close to a Catholic Mass for the many Catholics in the 17th. That was my way of reminding everyone that people of all faiths are Patriots. You’ve read about the Spencers and Folsoms who are Mormon, and Andrew Berkowitz who is Jewish – all of them Patriots.
Everyone – regardless of religious beliefs – is welcome at Pierce Point. There are already way too many things dividing us Patriots. We don’t need additional things.
If you have a table at a gun show, I’d like to ask a favor. Could you put out some really nice 299 Days bookmarks on your table? They don’t take up much space (about 4″ x 1″). You don’t need to do anything other than set them out.
Gun show shoppers are very likely to be interested in a book like 299 Days. So they’ll take a bookmark home and (hopefully) order the books. The bookmarks are also great conversation starters with potential buyers of the products you’re selling at the gun show.
I will mail you out the bookmarks. You can take a picture of your gun show table with the bookmarks and I’ll put it up on my Facebook page.
If you’re interested in being a 299 Days Gun Show Affiliate, just send me an email at email@example.com and I’ll get you fixed up.
John Willis at SOE Tactical is fabulous. He made me a tactical stocking last Christmas and it’s been hanging on the wood stove in the real cabin ever since. The real Team loves it. Well, I got some 17th Irregular patches and – bam! – look at how cool that SOE stocking is. If you’re looking for tactical gear, or just cool gift ideas like the stockings or beer coozies, then check out SOE Tactical. I love them. In a totally hetero way, of course. http://www.originalsoegear.com/index.html
Radio Free Redoubt is probably one of the very best podcasts out there if you are a 299er. (A “redoubt” is a stronghold area; the American Redoubt is the liberty-loving states of ID, MT, WY, eastern WA, and eastern OR.) I have been a fan of Radio Free Redoubt for a long time, so it was an amazing honor to be a guest on the show. In this in-depth interview, which starts at 37:10, one of the things we talk about is my upcoming joint interview on RFR with Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers (and a hero of mine). I highly recommend listening to this episode and subscribing to this podcast. The web site iswww.radiofreeredoubt.com. You can subscribe to the episodes for free on iTunes.
This is the office fridge of James Yeager, the owner of Tactical Response and YouTube guy. Wow. How cool is it that the 17th Irregulars and I miss America stickers are on his fridge? Tactical Response rules. http://www.tacticalresponse.com
Mike made a patch showing the Good Gang Sign! How cool is that? Yep. He nailed it. Thanks, Mike. That patch is one of a kind. Extremely cool.
An awesome Oath Keeper, who we’ll call Mr. Anonymous, sends this in from his work. There are plenty of Patriots in uniform. Plenty. And they have the keys to lots of stuff. Lots.
This comes from an Oath Keeper named Chester. God Bless you, brother.
A great interview on the Practical Defense Podcast. The host, Alex Haddox, is a very serious and credentialed personal defense instructor and author. He brings a great perspective to the interview. He also assesses how I performed a few days ago when I had to pull a gun on a dude. Find out how I did.
Here’s this week’s Gun Runner Podcast, with the weekly “On the Road with Glen” segment. I come on at 41:00.
Pieter sends this in. This photo kicks an astounding amount of ass.
I was very honored to write a guest column for PreparedChristian.net entitled, “Why Prepper Novels are an Important Source of Survival Information.” It describes how you can learn a lot by reading “fiction.”
The column is generating a lot of comments.
Here is a really good interview on the Great Northern Prepper about prepping with special needs kids in mind. As you know from reading the 29 9Days series, my son has autism. I talk about that, other special needs prepping ideas, and some very interesting ideas on how the unprepared sheeple will be a big problem when SHTF.
Another great review, this time by Simpler Times Homestead of book 3, The Community.
The real “Wes” sends this in. That brother has fine taste in carbines and books…
This brother took this picture at work-see, there are plenty of Patriots inside sensitive government positions. (This of course, is bad news for the Loyalists. Good.) He taped over the lot numbers on the ammo cans so you couldn’t figure out where he was. Thank you “Mr. Ammo” for the picture. You, sir, are the Patriot of the week.
Good ol’ WildChild produces another review, this time of Book Five. He has an amazing ability to capture what the books are about.
There must be something wrong with me – I went on the Politics and Guns podcast again. Hear about how I had to pull a gun on a dude. For real. Great interview. It starts at 23:00. P.S. Listen to the last 50 seconds for an outtake involving Dr. Foxy.
Bob sends in this picture of his preps. Gotta stay clean, gotta have hot sauce, gotta have a pistol, gotta have the Constitution. Oh, and gotta have 299 Days.
Do you miss America? Me too. Get your “I MISS AMERICA” T-shirt here at the
TSP gear shop.
Note from author Glen Tate: This T-shirt says it all, doesn’t it? In the book 299 Days, “I miss America” becomes the Patriots’ slogan. It captures what you are feeling: you want your country back. Get people thinking, “Yeah, I miss America too.”
American productivity has been on the decline for several days – ever since Book Six came out.
299 Days Book Six: The 17th Irregulars, the longest book in the series yet, is now available in paperback, Kindle and Nook! Read as the Team prepares for guerrilla warfare. Click here to purchase AMAZON PAPERBACK, AMAZON -KINDLE , NOOK-BARNES & NOBLE
Another great review, this one from Great Northern Prepper.
KentuckyLake Prepper knocks it out of the park with this review of Book Six. He did it a few hours after the book came out.
Matt Shea is very unusual: he’s an elected official who realizes it’s his job to protect individual liberties, not grow government. He is a member of the Washington State House of Representatives and has a radio show. I was his guest.
I think you’ll really like this.
Patriot of the week June 1, 2013
Brady takes this picture from his nightstand. You got all you need bro: 299 days and a Glock with a light. No bad guys can touch you.
Dr. Prepper, a/k/a James Talmadge Stevens, is a really big deal in the prepping world. He wrote THE non-fiction book on survival, Making the Best of Basics. It’s sold 800,000 copies (not a typo).
His radio and podcast network, the Preparedness Radio Network, is huge. PRN has lots of good shows on it; consider listening to them.
He and I had a great conversation about prepping and the 299 Days book series. Here’s the interview. I highly recommend it.
